University Hospital in Tübingen

The construction project for the dormitories for students and staff of the University Hospital in Tübingen consists of five

above-ground buildings. These are divided into two areas: One area comprises three buildings that share a common underground garage, while the other area consists of two buildings. The structures extend over a basement, a ground floor, and up to seven upper floors.

The structural framework of the buildings is consistently standardized. The exterior walls, both corridor walls, and in most cases, every second partition wall between apartments are load-bearing. The concrete ceilings and walls are constructed using precast elements. In some cases, the load-bearing walls above the ground floor are supported by wall-like beams or reinforced concrete beams. The sanitary units are prefabricated modules and are integrated into the structure during the shell construction phase.

Due to the low load-bearing capacity of the soil, the foundation is constructed using precast driven piles.
